Rapid Growth at FoodMaven Spurs Expansion to New Warehouse and Leadership Hires

FoodMaven unveils expanded office and warehouse space and announces executive team additions

Colorado Springs Colorado, APRIL 6, 2018- Colorado Springs based start-up FoodMaven today unveiled a new and expanded food storage facility as well as additions to their leadership team to include Damon Miller, Vice President of Marketing, and Brad LaRue, Director of Sales.

The new facility in North Colorado Springs will house over 30 employees and offer 22,000 square feet of space, a dramatic increase over their previous storage facilities. Since its inception in 2015, FoodMaven has doubled in size on a yearly basis, and is on track to continue its expansion beyond Colorado by the end of this year. CEO Patrick Bultema says that the new facility was needed to meet demand.

“Limited storage had completely constrained our operations.” says Bultema, “These new facilities will give us the capacity that we need to keep up with demand and grow into the future. I’m excited about the opportunity, including bringing more jobs to the Colorado Springs area.”

This expansion will include two additions to FoodMaven’s leadership team: Damon Miller, Vice President of Marketing and Brad LaRue, Director of Sales. Both positions were created to help FoodMaven meet the company’s massive demand. Miller will take the lead role in FoodMaven’s marketing department. Miller comes to FoodMaven after more than fifteen years of marketing and product leadership roles in food service, consumer products and technology with companies such as Starbucks, Unilever, and Intel. Most recently, Miller was the marketing lead for two high-growth startups, including Basis, a pioneer in personal health technology (acquired by Intel), and Rachio, a leader in residential water conservation and management.

“I was attracted to FoodMaven’s goal of eliminating food waste while bringing a unique value proposition to the restaurant and food service industry.” says Miller, “There is a great opportunity to build awareness and educate the industry on the incredible impact that FoodMaven can make.”

LaRue is excited to take on a new challenge as well. FoodMaven was able to hire LaRue after twenty years with Sysco. He held leadership roles at their operating companies and corporate office in sales, marketing, and strategy development. Most recently, LaRue was in a leadership position managing sales of $28 million annually to foodservice operations in Colorado.

“FoodMaven has a really compelling mission,” says LaRue, “We have a unique value proposition, and being able to tell that unique story to buyers sets us up for success. I’m incredibly excited to be part of the solution that really resonates with our customer base.”
